Singg was recognized for her “Outstanding Leadership as the President, Unfaltering Dedication, and Unrelenting Meritorious Service for Ten Years to the PAGWT.” The PAGWT is the local affiliate of the Texas Psychological Association. River Crest Hospital is its professional development sponsor.
“PAGWT is unique in the sense that there is no cost to the members,” Singg said. “We provide 20 continuing education units (CEUs) each year for the licensed psychologists in West Texas. I organize the professional development seminars, luncheons and four meetings in a year, and I perform other administrative duties.”
“Five of our ASU psychology faculty members obtain their CEUs without any cost by attending PAGWT meetings,” she added. “Those CEUs can cost $3,000 or more each year. With us they pay nothing, get to network, and get a free lunch. Our students also benefit by obtaining internships and employment with the area psychologists who are members of PAGWT.”
This is just the latest award for Singg, whose other honors include:
- Jimmy Alvarez Friend of Counseling Award from Three Rivers Counseling Association
- ASU Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Achievement Award
- ASU President’s Award for Faculty Excellence in Leadership/Service
- Phi Delta Kappa Research Award
- Outstanding Leadership in Psychology Award from the PAGWT
